Booking a nail appointment is easy (just contact us here!), but choosing a colour? That’s a whole other problem! At Nailista we have over 150 standard polish colours and just as many gel colours, so picking a colour before your appointment can be a real ordeal. It’s true you can never have too much choice, but we thought to make the process a little easier we’d put together a handy guide to the most popular colours in-salon for Autumn Winter 2017.
Below are a few samples of these colours up close, so you can fall in love with them ready for your next appointment!
If you’re looking for a true burgundy, Majestic is the colour for you. Red has always been a classic for most clients, but when the longer, dark nights draw in, you need a colour that’s deeper and warmer. Majestic goes with all outfits and it’s the perfect compliment to your winter woollies. Glamorous, dark and sophisticated, this berry red picks up cherry tones in the light, and wine purples in lower light.
I Wear the Pants
I Wear The Pants is popular all year round as another classic red, but it really comes into it’s own in Autumn winter as an ideal wine red. If you’re not a fan of purple tones in your red polish, I Wear The Pants has that luxurious red velvet look without compromising on pure red pigment.
If you love browns and nudes, but need something a little warmer for winter, try Uptown. It’s one of the Nailista favourites and often seen on our staff! It’s a muted pink-brown reminiscent of a softer brick red, and looks classic on any nail shape if you’re having acrylics.
Fallen in love with any of these colours? Don’t forget most of the colours in the Artistic Colour Revolution range can be exactly matched to the colours in our Artistic Gel Polish range, so you don’t miss out!
This year the Nailista team returned to Professional Beauty North for our usual scouting mission for nail trends for Christmas and 2018! We love to stay on top of trends, so our clients can have the latest nail art on demand. Last year saw a huge rise in chrome powders, and we certainly saw lots of clients rocking this look for Christmas!
The show is also a great opportunity for our technicians to update their skills and pick up some tips and tricks from some of the nail technician ‘celebrities’ and award winning pros. This year the team sat in on an excellent demonstration of Bridal nail art; we learnt how to take chrome nails one step further with layered nails of stamping and sculpted gel roses. Just take a look at this sample we saw below; we can do our best to recreate something similar for your big day!
After absorbing all the knowledge we could from that skill session the Nailistas headed in to scour all the stalls for glitters, chromes and other special effects we think you’ll love. Glitters are always huge at Christmas, and although we already have a huge range of colours in store, we are firm believers in the fact you can never have too much glitter. We picked up some gorgeous rose gold glitter tones, as well as some multi-glitz glitters that feature different shapes for a multidimensional look. (Psst, we’re already starting to get bookings for Christmas, so book online now to avoid disappointment!)
Christmas trends we’ve spotted so far include frosty white glitters with iridescent undertones, and mermaid chromes over icy colours. Just take a look at some of the white glitters we picked up for the salon:
We’ve also noticed a lot of traders at the exhibition promoting holo flakies; these are tiny pieces of holographic mylar which make your nails look like opals! They’re a big bridal trend, but would also look great for Christmas parties. We’ve got a few examples of these in the salon.
Got a Christmas party coming up? ‘Tis the season to make a flamboyant statement, and at the show we also saw Swarovski showcasing entire nail samples encrusted with crystals; we can create a very similar look in the salon for fraction of the price with our standard crystals, why not enquire and get a glitter manicure with an accent nail in crystals?
We’re looking forward to next year!
